Features

The new laptop adopts Apple’s unibody design with aluminium finish. As mentioned before, the MacBook Pro is upgraded to Intel’s new Ivy Bridge quad-core Core i7 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, for the base model. The processor is supported by 8 GB of 1.5 GHz DDR3 RAM that can be upgraded to a whopping 16 GB.

Only these specifications are enough to make it the best desktop replacement but the new Pro with Retina Display gets the latest NVIDIA 1GB graphics card GeForce GT 650M. This places the laptop at the top of the podium in professional desktop replacement notebooks.

With the solid-state drive the new Pro has no moving parts inside the hood, whatsoever. The base model gets a 256 GB SSD and top-end version receives a 512 GB storage drive.

To date, the highest resolution in a notebook had been noted at 1920×1080 pixels, also found in HDTVs. However, that technology was reserved for only the desktop replacements and gaming laptops. At 2880×1800 pixels, the new Pro takes a giddy leap ahead of the competition.
