Bad opening day for top seed national potters: Third Jubilee Insurance Ranking Snooker Championship

Opening day of the third Jubilee Insurance Ranking Snooker Championship 2012 did not bring any good news for the top seed potters which include the National Champion Mohammad Asif, fourth seed Mohammad Sajjad and eighth seed Mohammad Majid. All these cueman failed to maintain their leading position and suffered setbacks on the opening day of the event at the Karachi Gymkhana.

Meanwhile, Asjad Iqbal, who performed impressively in the 2012 National Bank Pakistan (NBP) Ranking Snooker event a couple of weeks back, Sultan Mohammad, Naveen Kumar Perwani, Abdul Sattar and Vishan Gir had impressive start of the tournament registering victories.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa duo of Shafiullah and Farhan Khan, ranked 25th and 27th by the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA), pulled out of the event at the eleventh hour and they were replaced by Abdul Rauf Kurd and Zahoor Ahmed, both of them hailing from Balochistan.
