LG Optimus 4X HD (2012): Full Review – Part 2

It is 5.19 inches long and 2.69 inches wide, making it a difficult choice for those who have smaller hands. Even for large hands it is not a feasible to work with one hand.

The body is made of plastic but LG spared not leeway on premium quality. The back case is textured with a wood-like pattern that is both beautiful and grippy, and is removable. The front is elegant and is augmented by the HD screen that uses IPS technology.

The top edge has 3.5mm headset jack and power/sleep toggle. The left spine has a volume rocker keep the phone as simple as possible; the right side has nothing on it whatsoever. The bottom edge has a micro-USB port for charging and PC/Mac connectivity.

The Korean company has keep the aesthetics of the new phone very and subtle but elegant at the same time. Both left and right spines are finished with burgeoning diamond pattern that is extremely soft to feel.

The front side has 1.3-mega pixel camera on the top bezel that can capture 720p video in two different modes. Right beneath it is the 4.7-inch touch sensitive screen that crams up 1280×720 resolution with IPS technology.

On the flip side, there is an 8-mega pixel camera on the top-right corner supported by LED flash. The primary snapper can capture up to 1080p video in five different scene modes, but more on that latter.

There are two incisions beneath the camera that make way for the dual stereo speakers for audio output.

The rear cover is removable and flipping it open from the bottom wedge allow access to the removable 2,150 mAh battery, a micro SD and SIM card slots. There are two golden antennae on the top for NFC connectivity.

Features

The new Optimus 4X HD comes with Google’s latest iteration to its mobile operating system, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. There is also LG’s own customized user interface called Optimus UI 3.0. But that overdoes the already beautiful user interface that Google offers in the ICS.
