LG Optimus 3D Max
Like the Optimus 3D, the new handset from the Korean company is unlocked in all over the world, even in the US.
The phone is supposedly an upgrade to the last year’s iteration with passive 3D technology but according to some experts, it is almost the same as the Optimus 3D save the outlook. LG has improved the shape of all the latest smartphones with a slab-like simple design. The new Optimus 4X HD has the same shape as well.
The 3D technology in the new handset is supposed to be its major selling point and it is but the quality does not live up to its hype. The phone has a lot of jitter and stutter and sometimes the 3D is not as impressive as it should be. The viewing angle in the same mode is also Optimus 3D’s Achilles’ heel. At $593 it is pricy considering the quality and hassle it brings.
Huawei Ascend P1
The Chinese electronics goliaths launched the first premium handset at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012. The phone again showed up at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
It is the first time Huawei has produced a smartphone that its premium in quality the moment it rolls out of the factory. In the past, the Chinese company has always produced phones that were replacement handsets at best.
However, with QHD AMOLED screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and snappy dual-core processor are all welcome. Ascend P1 does not inherit any design quirks from its ancestors; it has its own features and they are elegant. However, $500 to $800 price is quite out of budget, especially for a Chinese brand.
