Fabian Cancellara getting his form back ahead of the 2012 London Olympics

Fabian Cancellara has to sit outside for most of the earlier part of the 2012 season and marked his return at the Tour de Suisse.

The cyclist had to face the disappointment after he lost the time trial race in his homeland with a mere lead of two seconds.

The Swiss finished first during the Strade Bianche and also succeeded the stage 7 of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2012.

He rode brilliantly during the Milan-San Remo but had to settle for the second overall spot at the race.

Fabian is now targeting the 2012 Olympic Goals as the biggest goal of his 2012 season and is optimistic to help his nation at the mega event.

The cyclist has also shown interest towards riding the Tour de France to fine-tune his form ahead of the mega event.

He noted, “It would be nice to be there to win”.

“I would not say that the Tour is a workout, but that I’m riding the Tour especially in view of what comes after”.

“The focus is the Olympics. I have not checked out the time trials in France and am doing other things: my preparation for London”.

While commenting on his crash, Fabian cited, “I was home with my family, but it was no vacation”.

“I enjoyed it, but it was also a weird feeling, but I tried to keep it in perspective: ‘Hey, I don’t have a broken shoulder, it’s only a broken collarbone,’ I said then”.

Team RadioShack-Nissan is having a difficult season after its poor performance in the 2012 season.

First it was Andy Schleck who announced his exit from the Tour de France after the crash which has ruined the team’s chances for the French Grand Tour.

Andy’s exit is followed by Team Manager Johan Bruyneel’s involvement at the USADA anti-doping investigation.

Johan might risk a life-ban if the charges hold and the incident can definitely hurt the Team RadioShack-Nissan squad.

Frank Schleck is most likely to replace Andy at the 2012 edition of the French Grand Tour. He finished third during the most recent edition of the race behind his brother Andy.

It will be interesting to see if Fabian Cancellara and Frank Schleck can make it happen for the Luxembourg based team at the coming event.
