Islamabad: (Wednesday, June 20, 2012) In wake of Yousuf Raza Gilani’s disqualification by the Supreme Court, the President has summoned the National Assembly session on Friday. According to the PPP sources, the new PM will also
be elected during this session.
A notification issued by the presidency here today said that Zardari has summoned the lower house of parliament to meet at 5:30 pm on Friday.
After Gilani’s departure, President Zardari is into crisis talks to find a suitable replacement that may exhibit equal loyalty to him and the party as Yousuf Raza Gilani did.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly Secretariat has issued the schedule for the selection of the new prime minister.
According to the brief issued by the secretariat, nomination papers will be filled by 2:00 PM on Thursday. The nomination papers will be scrutinized by the NA Speaker at 3:00 PM and prior to the selection, papers can be withdrawn
at any time.
