Supreme Court’s verdict in Gilani case is Historic: Imran Khan
Islamabad: (Wednesday, June 20, 2012) The Supreme Court’s verdict declaring the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani disqualified since April 26 this year was a historic decision, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran
Khan here today in a press conference.
However, Imran feared that under the current setup, even if a new PM is elected, it will be of no good for the system as the underlying problems will not be solved.
Demanding for new elections, Imran declared it the only viable solution under the present scenario. He said, “The only solution left now is early election.” He was of the view that the current government has miserably failed to
do any good in the last four years and now expecting something good from it is totally out of question.
Toeing the popular line and expressing his discomfort over the power crisis, the PTI chief said that he has decided to stand with the people and protest against the unending loadshedding.
Announcing his party’s initiative in this regards, he said that the PTI will hold a protest rally in Faisalabad on June 27. Khan said that he will also visit other cities and protest along with the locals against the crushing power
loadshedding.
