“I am ready to do anything, be it action or dance… You can’t look at one department, it is a film in totality… I am looking at the whole film right now,” Ajay told reporters.
The original film featured Jeetendra in the lead role opposite to Sridevi and since now Ajay will be stepping in his shoes many out there have already started comparing him with Jeetendra. However, when the actor was asked about it, he said he don’t think that there is any chance of his comparison with the veteran.
“I don’t think there is any chance of comparison. The way the script has been adapted from the 80’s style keeping in mind today’s audience, it is different. When one adapts a script point of view changes,” Ajay told reporters here on the sidelines of a recording session for the chartbuster song Taaki O Taaki by 100 musicians.
The remake of ‘Himmatwala’ is being directed by Said Sajid Khan and he has clarified that his film will not be the exact copy of the original film. The director stated his movie will have a different storyline.
“It is based on 1983 film ‘Himmatwala’ and it is my version of ‘Himmatwala’. You will get to see many things which were not there in ‘Himmatwala’. Actually, they are two different stories. We have taken rights officially for the film and for the two songs.”
This is not the first time that Ajay will do a retro film, as his movie ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ was set in the 70s.
When Ajay was asked whether he thinks he is the man of all seasons, he said, “I don’t know what to answer but it’s a great feeling.”
Well, all said and done, let’s see what new Ajay brings for his fans.
