Karachi: (Thursday, June 21, 2012) Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan said today that the only solution to the multifaceted problems facing Pakistan today is to hold free, fair and transparent elections. He maintained
that all the coalition parties under the umbrella of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party led regime had failed to deliver.
Imran said this while talking to the journalists on his arrival at the Karachi airport. Khan along with his party members is here to address a public meeting in Hyderabad on Friday.
The PTI chairman said that in order to express solidarity with the public faced with menace of loadshedding, his party will hold a protest on June 27 in Faisalabad.
Khan also accused the PPP of attacking his party’s peace rally in Karachi few days back in which the members and supporters took to the streets in support of the independent judiciary.
Applauding the apex court’s verdict for declaring the former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani disqualified from the Parliament, he said that the verdict was historic and will prove to be an important milestone in national politics
as it was for the first time that a ruler was convicted by the judiciary.
Commenting on nominees for the prime minister, Imran said, “All are corrupt.”
He said that even the new Prime Minister will not write a letter to the Swiss authorities. “Doesn’t matter who is chosen for the post…. Will be a servant of President Asif Ali Zardari’’ he added.
Senior party leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, who was also present on the occasion, said that he regretted that Yousuf Raza Gilani could not earn goodwill in national politics.
