Richard Webb and David Carry impressed their fans by winning gold medals of the Men’s 100m breaststroke and 400m freestyle respectively on opening day of the 2012 British GAS ASA Nationals in Sheffield, England.
He demonstrated his stupendous efforts in the 100m event and hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 1 minute and 01.64 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Aleksander Hetland of Norway, who stayed 0.60 seconds apart and made his way to the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 02.24 seconds.
Third position of the discipline was secured by Andrew Willis of Bracknell, who stepped on the medal rostrum for bronze medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 02.40 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Russell Smith of Stockport Mo, who was 0.23 seconds apart and touched the finishing end for fourth position with an effort of 1 minute and 02.63 seconds.
Following that, Carry captured gold medal of the 400m event. With his fantastic pace, he enjoyed a lead of one and a half body length over his strongest competitor and reached the finishing wall with an effort of 3 minutes and 46.86 seconds for the title.
He was followed by Ieuan Lloyd of Co Cardiff, who remained 1.24 seconds behind and made his way to the finishing end with an effort of 3 minutes and 48.10 seconds for silver medal.
The second position holder was trailed by Sergii Frolov of Ukraine, who stayed 4.02 seconds behind and hit the finishing end for bronze medal by producing a time of 3 minutes and 52.12 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Lewis Smith of Warrender Ba, who was almost one second slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with the timing of 3 minutes and 53.03 seconds.
Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all planned events while the position holders received awards and accolades at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship.
