Senator Shahi Syed, the chief of the Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh chapter, on Monday refused to meet newly-elected Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, saying he doesn’t believe in exhibitory sittings.

After being elected 25th Prime Minister of the country, Raja Pervez Ashraf is currently visiting Karachi, the economic hub of the country. The ANP leader made it clear that he has no interests in holding exhibitory meetings, which do not offers anything to the masses.

Talking to the media, ANP spokesperson said that Senator Shahi Syed had been called to the Governor House to meet Raja Pervez Ashraf, but the latter refused.

It is vital to mention here that ANP is coalition partners of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and their meetings are no extraordinary things.

The newly-elected premier is expected to meet leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) at the party’s headquarter, Nine-Zero, on Monday. The MQM is also allied party of the government in the province as well as in the federal government.

The ANP leader was of the opinion that the ruling PPP should treat them like they treat other coalition party, the MQM. In his view, why not the premier visits Mardan House if he can go to Nine Zero.

He observed, “We have supported PPP unconditionally and we will do so in the future but they should think that if they can visit Nine Zero day and night, they should also visit Mardan House, which is a centre of Karachi’s Pashtuns”.

He further noted, “We are also government’s ally and we should also be given importance, he (Prime Minister) refused to visit and I refused to meet him as we are in no need to have a meeting with prime minister”.

Addressing a large gathering earlier on Sunday, Shahi Syed said they were followers of Ahmed Shah Abdali and their aim was to continue the non-violence philosophy of Bacha Khan, the founder of the party. He was of the opinion that they should not be compared with a party like MQM.

The ANP leader clarified they had joined coalition government with the ruling PPP on principles and on promises for the progress of the country and prosperity of the society.

At one moment he is saying that ANP should not be compared with MQM and at the other comparing MQM he is demanding the PM to come to his house. Had the demand come from Asfandyar Wali he would have been justified. Shahi is only the provincial chief and has only two seats in the Sind assembly whereas MQM more than fifty

Some stupids are thinking that he is not meeting new Prime Minister because of some Ideology and moral Uprightness and for their kind information all ANP member unanimously supported Raja Pervaiz in the Parliament and now they are whining to get the due share in Corruption and some good ministries as after the Destruction of Railways they want some other sectors to be like Railways. It is a fight of sharing of resources of corruption together and nothing else.
