Shahram Changezi books final spot beating Khurram Agha: 3rd National Ranking Snooker
Monday, June 25th, 2012 12:34:02 by Zeeshan GoharShahram Changezi of Islamabad cruised his way into the ultimate clash by a tremendous victory over one of the most experienced potters of the line-up, Khurram Agha by the score line of 6-1 in the semi-final encounter of the Jubilee Insurance Third National Ranking Snooker Championship.
The penultimate clash between Changezi and Agha at the Karachi Gymkhana Club went the way it was expected but Changezi did not let it go into a situation where it might have been difficult for him to come up as victorious. The Islamabad cueman made it so easy for him to win the game by grabbing an early lead.
From the beginning of the event, Changezi showed great performance and grabbed a strong position after the finish of the round robin formatted group stage. He faced Sohail Shahzad in the quarter-final clash and defeated him by the score line of 5-4 to set up Agha semi-final encounter.
Changezi fired a tremendous clearance of 79 points to claim the first frame win in one visit by the score line of 79-0 and get a quick lead of 1-0. The second frame was no different than the first one as Changezi pocketed a fine clearance of 76 points to win the frame by 99-0 and extend his lead to 2-0.
Agha came back in the third frame with a 30-point run but it was not enough to stop Changezi’s momentum as he compiled 62 points to win the set by the score line of 3-0. The first session finished in Changezi’s favour when he won the fourth frame 60-0.
The second session was also dominated by Changezi with a superb triumph in the fifth frame with 81-4 score line. Agha clinched the sixth frame by 25-112 firing a 90-point break but it went in vain as Changezi took the seventh set by 83-26 to reserve his chair in the final encounter.
