Islamabad: (Tuesday, June 26, 2012) Prime Minister of Pakistan, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has convened the first federal cabinet meeting to focus on the prevailing energy crisis in the country and discuss the probable solutions for the
issue at length.
In the federal meeting today, as the burning issue of the country was raised in the backdrop of the approaching month of Ramadan, it was decided that there would be no loadshedding during Sehri and Aftar times.
During the meeting, the members of the cabinet expressed their serious concerns over the loadshedding issue. They were of the view that the problem can have serious repercussions if immediate steps are not taken to eliminate it.
As the meeting lingered on, the cabinet members also raised and discussed the issue of Pak-US relations. Commenting on the situation, the PM said that no hasty decisions would be made regarding the relationship. He further added
that the parliament had demanded an apology from the United States over the Salala attack.
Prime Minister Ashraf also invited the Baloch leaders in and outside Pakistan to get engaged in talks with the government to reach to an acceptable resolution to the crisis the province has been going through.
