Asus Transformer Pad TF700: Full Review – Part 2
Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 5:00:23 by Usman KhalidTF700 has the same set of buttons and ports as the Prime TF201 but they adjusted to the company’s desire. The cameras however, are at the same position as the Prime. In landscape mode, the front facing camera is placed in the middle of the top bezel. The secondary camera has been upgraded to 2-mega pixel from 1.2 found in the Prime. It offers a more vibrant and clear picture quality in video chatting.
Exactly on the flip side is a 5-mega pixel lens accompanied by dual flash support and a microphone pinhole to record audio with ease while capturing video. TF700 can record up to 1080p resolution video and it has by far the best quality found in an Android tablet.
Keeping the tablet in the same landscape inclination, one would find the volume rocker on the top edge. The power/sleep button is placed on the left spine accompanied by the 3.5mm headphones jack and a micro-HDMI port. The right side has a microphone pinhole, while the bottom edge houses the Asus signature data cable-cum-dock connector.
The dock connector is the same as the TF201. TF300 has a little different connector, in addition to the breadth of the device. Therefore, TF300 is not compatible with the docks that come with TF201 and TF700. However, both of latter devices can be nestled in the TF300’s cradle but it is not recommended from a technical viewpoint.
The whole body of the TF700 is covered in aluminium except for part where the GPS is located. Due to the reason Asus received a number of complaints on the sloppy GPS reception in the TF201 the company has cut the compartment and covered it with plastic.
On the right bottom edge are the stereo speakers with a conglomerate of small holes packed closer to each other as compared to the Prime.
