Nawaz Sharif signals grand alliance before general polls
Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 1:04:54 by Faisal FarooqIn order to combat the government alliance, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif signaled a grand opposition alliance ahead of the general election.
However, he made it clear that those who are part of the incumbent government would not be part of the broad based alliance.
Addressing to his party workers, he damned the coalition partners saying they were indeed serving as clutches to the incompetent and corrupt government.
He observed, “Don’t the coalition partners know what the federal government was doing to the masses?” He was of the opinion that the masses will not forget those who joined hands with President Asif Ali Zardari in plundering the country.
The PML-N president blamed the rulers in the federation for involving in rampant corruption, disrespecting the superior judiciary, scourge of power outages and trampling sovereignty.
Asking a question to the president, he said, “How many prime ministers Zardari will sacrifice for the protection of his wealth in Swiss banks received through kickbacks? The main question before the nation is that when Zardari himself will leave his office”.
The former two-time prime minister said it was President Zardari who deviated from written agreements for restoration of judiciary due to which he had to launch a long march.
Urging the youth not to be disappointed as his party guarantees their bright future, he said Pakistan has a great potential in the form of brilliant youngsters.
He asserted that the PML-N will evolve such policies under which the expatriate Pakistanis will return to the country with their experience, talent and wealth.
Nawaz Sharif added, “The PML-N had a very talented and experienced team, well versed in the art of governance, with ideas that would change the socio-economic-political scenario of the Federation”.
He reminded the party workers about many past successful endeavors of the PML-N for overseas Pakistanis, giving assurances that there were more in the offing for the right talent in the coming years.
The PML-N leader announced that his party would not allow any plan or conspiracy of the present rulers against independent judiciary to succeed.
