Pakistan urges Afghanistan to stop cross-border attacks: Rehman Malik

The two neighboring countries usually blame each other for violence of militants besetting both sides of their absorbent border.
Pakistan formally registered a complaint with Afghanistan over insurgents attacked on Pakistani security forces in Upper Dir from other side of border on Sunday , killing a dozen of military officials will over 10 are still gone astray.
In retaliated action, Pakistani security forces also killed 15 militants. A group of Pakistani security forces was patrolling the Pak-Afghan border area when it was attacked by the insurgents who crossed the border.
According to the media reports, the team was carrying out a search operation after they tipped off about militants’ presence in the area.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Affairs Rehman Malik while briefing the media observed, “I submitted a complaint with my Afghan counterpart for not preventing cross-border movement of militants into Pakistan’s territory”.
He further stated that they had sought a written guarantee from Kabul that likewise incidents would not occur in the future.
Commenting on political situation of the country, Rehman Malik criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for using court petitions to overturn the democratic system in Pakistan.
In his view, the PML-N wanted to derail the system by filing petitions. He alleged that Sanaullah was behind PML-N’s petitions, saying that he was the most influential person of the country.
The advisor also condemned the attack on a private TV channel, saying such actions had been carried out by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to mute voices of freedom. The advisor also stated that the TTP had presence in big cities of the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Malik also claimed that the top leadership of the banned militant outfit TTP has been eliminated, adding that some low-profile leaders still exist in many cities though.
