Lahore: (Thursday, June 28, 2012) Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam’s leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s appointment as Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan has been challenged in Lahore High Court.
Contending that there is no concept of a deputy prime minister in Pakistan’s constitution, Advocate Tariq Aziz filed the petition in the court. He was of the view that in the absence of a clear provision in
the court, the said appointment was a clear violation to the article 91.
Advocate Tariq pleaded the court to take notice of this appointment and to declare it as null and void.
