Bavor showed the new feature during the presentation and it was simply amazing. He also informed that the feature is available in the mobile version as well.
Another astonishing aspect of the Drive that has made it one of the best clouding service in such short time is the searching algorithms. Powered by Google’s own search engine functionalities, the service makes the file search a piece of cake in the online service.
A demonstration at the presentation showed how a user can search a specific image regardless of the name. Bavor stored a picture of someone taken in front of the Egyptian Pyramids. Then he searched the picture by typing the query ‘Photos of us at the pyramids’ in the search bar. In an instance, the picture came forth and the amazing part of all this was that the snap was not even saved by a name with ‘pyramid’ in it.
Bavor said that the algorithms in the Drive’s search engine recognize a picture from its graphics and cull the results with appropriate matches.
The other product launched for iOS was the Chrome browser. Google recently added a new feature to its signature browser called Sync. The new feature communicates online with chrome browsers opened in other device by the same users. It syncs all the tabs opened and the history. The service kicks in when the user logs in to the browser via his/her Google username and password.
Both these services will also be available to Chrome OS devices, some recently released by Samsung. Therefore, both Chrome and Drive become ubiquitous in the online market among users, most of who already use the browser and drive on desktop platforms.
