Salman Butt, the former skipper of the Pakistan’s national cricket team, disclosed the record relating to text messages between former pacer Mohammad Amir and UK-based agent Mazhar Majeed, saying he was not involved in the spot fixing scam.

Addressing a news conference, the tainted cricketer, who spent almost eight months in British prison, claimed that he didn’t ask anyone for giving no-balls.

He clarified that the forensic report of cell-phone was received after the ICC (International Cricket Council) declared its verdict.

Butt said that he didn’t get justice from the Court in England, demanding the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the issue and provide him justice.

He remarked, “I have apologized even at the airport on my return, but on my failure to report. Mazhar Majeed did send me offers and text messages, but I did not reply to any of them”.

He informed the media that this forensic evidence was not available at the time of the hearing but now these are available as public documents.

Butt asserted, “No one can bring back my eight months in jail. But I want the people to see the documents so they can know that the allegations against me were not genuine. I had no part in playing no-balls or making anyone else do it and I will say I did not get justice”.

Salman Butt, the former test captain of the Green-Shirts was found guilty by both the game’s governing body and a British court; of orchestrating deliberate no-balls through two of his bowlers during the 2010 Lord’s Test against England.

The convicted cricketer informed the media that he will challenge the ICC-ban in the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) based in Switzerland.

He added, “I have written to the CAS to take up my appeal but the cost of this whole process is very expensive and I cannot afford that and need support”.

He was of the opinion that the international body banned him before the forensic evidence, adding that he was holding this briefing to prove him innocent and express his point of view.
