Danny Garcia’s fitness coach Tony Davis has established Garcia as an 80 percent natural fighter. He added that it just takes 20 percent motivation to get Garcia ready for a bout.
According to Davis, Garcia is going through tough training sessions to prepare for his fight against Khan.
Danny Garcia, along with his teammates, recently gave a detailed interview in their ‘Swift Boxing Club’ gym, sharing various matters of personal as well as impersonal nature. Garcia, 24, is yet again amidst a wave of demean remarks for his title defence bout with Amir Khan, former WBA Super World light welterweight champion.
The Philadelphia ‘Swift’ is being widely dubbed as an underdog and is being underestimated again by the critics, just as it happened before in his high-profile bouts against names like Erik Morales, Kendall Holt, Nate Campbell and others.
Davis explained in detail about the fitness plan, which is being followed to aid Danny in becoming a much stronger pugilist. Tony stated, “We’re attacking some things, and with Danny, he’s 80-percent nature and 20-percent push. We’ll work on his back, stomach, arms and shoulders, everything where the power comes from. He’s walking around about 152, 153 and he’s been getting stronger and stronger with each fight. He’ll come in strong and ready to go for Khan.”
Garcia, on the other hand, did not say much about his upcoming opponent and in fact exhibited his sheer bitterness for people who hate him. Danny continuously stressed on the fact that he gives boxing fans memorable fights but still is treated as a villainous character.
Danny stated, “I go on Twitter, and I used to like it, but I don’t go on that much anymore because there is so much hate on it. People follow me just to hate me.” When asked as to how he feels about being treated as an ‘underdog’, the WBC light welterweight champion commented that Khan just has the bigger name and a large part of the boxing universe knows him well.
Angel Garcia, Danny’s father and trainer, also shared his views about the duo, commenting that Khan is a spoiled brat unlike Danny, who works and trains tirelessly. Angel then called Khan an overrated fighter who has nothing special in him.
