Islamabad: (Monday, July 02, 2012) Imran Khan, chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf said here today that after the NAB Chairman Fasih Bukhari’s statement over not opening up the political case, he should resign.
Expressing his disappointment over the gesture showed by the Chairman NAB that clearly speaks of the favour his office intends to give to the politicians, Imran said, “What good is Chairman NAB if he will not reopen cases against
politicians.”
Imran said this while addressing a press conference on the occasion of former Punjab minister Saeed Qureshi’s joining PTI.
The PTI chief also urged the Supreme Court to take a suo moto notice of the NAB chief’s statement.
Claiming that there exists an agreement between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), Imran said that Malik Riaz brokered an understanding between N-league and Asif Zardari.
He said, “Both the parties had to join hands after they became afraid of Tehreek-e-Insaaf.”
Imran asked, “Why did Nawaz Sharif step back in memo case after Asif Zardari’s name surfaced in the scandal?”
Commenting on Young Doctors’ Association’s (YDA) strike in Punjab as unfortunate, Khan said that the provincial government had mishandled the issues.
Responding to a question, Khan said that Awami Muslim League leader Shaikh Rashid has invited him to the latter’s public meeting to be held in Rawalpindi on August 13. Khan said that he will attend the event.
