Amir Khan wants Lamont Peterson rematch after Danny Garcia!

Former WBA and IBF light welterweight champion, Amir Khan, will lock horns with the current WBC light welterweight champion, Danny Garcia, on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, the Brit is still wants a potential rematch with Lamont Peterson, who controversially outpointed him last year on December 10.

Khan and Peterson were set for a rematch in May but it was called off with days to spare when Peterson came positive for synthetic testosterone.

Nevertheless, despite of what happened, the 25-year-old, who is more commonly known as King Khan, still wants to settle the scores with Peterson.

Khan said: “I still think about what happened, and I would have preferred to have had the chance to settle the score properly and fight him even when he got caught by testing positive.

“I thought there was still a chance of fighting him and my team were advising me not to because it wouldn’t have been fair. What got to me a little bit was not having my chance to win the titles back and put things straight.”

Well, in order to set up a fight with Peterson or anyone else Khan will have to pass Garcia test, which he also admitted is not an easy task.

The 24-year-old Philadelphian pugilist, who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 23 professional fights, with 14 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, beat Mexican veteran Erik Morales on points in his last fight in March to win his vacant title. Perhaps this is a reason why Khan is no mood of taking any chances against him.

Khan added: “This is a tough fight and I need to keep focused because when you look too far ahead you can make mistakes.

“I need to be very professional but in the future there are some super-fights out there for me.”
