Lahore: (Wednesday, July 04, 2012) Senior doctors and professors of the Punjab hospitals are to meet the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to discuss the Young Doctors Association (YDA) strike in the province.
As the patients continue to suffer, the strike called by the YDA did not see any end at the government hospitals. Amid these strikes, poor people are compelled to pay hefty prices of the private medical practioners.
While commenting on the situation and sharing about the latest developments, the spokesperson of the provincial health department told that the OPDs and emergency wards of all teaching hospitals in Lahore are completely functional.
He also said that in order to fill in the demands for vacated seats, the government has announced walk-in-interviews for the appointment of fresh doctors.
The senior doctors’ delegation is set to meet the CM Punjab today. The meeting is supposed to discuss an acceptable solution to end the YDA strike.
