Supreme Court issues notice to adviser interior Malik

Islamabad: (Wednesday, July 04, 2012) The Supreme Court of Pakistan here today issued notice to advisor for interior Rehman Malik on a stay order petition over his appointment as advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior issues.

Headed by chief justice of Supreme Court Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, a three member bench heard the case.

Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi, the petitioner, was of the view that the appointment of Malik as adviser to the Prime Minister, after his suspension as a Senator, was illegal and not according to the constitution of Pakistan.

As the court issued the notice, the case was adjourned subsequently.
