Amir Khan vs. Danny Garcia: Angel Garcia whaps Freddie Roach

Once again, Danny Garcia’s father and trainer Angel Garcia has made it a mark to whap each of his son’s antagonist, be it Khan or anybody from Khan’s camp.

After verbally assaulting Khan over his religion and race, Angel Garcia is now targeting Khan’s trainer Freddie Roach. According to Angel, there is nothing special about Roach and that he is just an ordinary coach who happened to be at the right spot.

“That don’t intimidate me [going against Roach]. He’s a man like me. You know how he got there, like I’m getting there, by making champions. Anybody can make champions [by them] walking in your gym. Anybody can get champions like that. In my door, if they start walking up in here – I’ll be a legend too,” Angel said for Roach.

Freddie Roach is a Hall of Fame boxing coach who has worked with some of the best fighters of all time. His accomplishments are honoured worldwide, with the exception of Angel Garcia.

Angel added, “Show me that you’re a real coach, train a little kid from ten years old to be a world champion and then you tell me that you’re a real coach. Half of them champions that he got, they already made them. The sky is too big for the truth. Like I said, I’m not going to beat around the bush.”

Not only Roach, Angel even took a shot at Khan’s promotion agency Golden Boy Promotions, calling them puppets. According to Garcia, Khan is a pampered fighter unlike his son who was put to hungry lions right from the start yet he came out victorious every time.

Danny Garcia is the current WBC light welterweight titlist, whereas Khan stands as a former IBF and WBA light welterweight champion. Both fighters are more or less of the same calibre, except for the fact that Danny has remained unbeaten to date.
