Islamabad: (Thursday, July 05, 2012) Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the opposition leader in National Assembly said here today that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) will never become a part of any ‘unholy nexus’ that is on a mission
to curtail the judiciary’s role.
Sharing his party’s strategy in his chamber at the National Assembly, and while referring to the new legislation the government is currently working on and is resolved to present it in the Assembly, Nisar said that the proposal
seeking amendment in connection with dual nationality and contempt of court bill will be strongly opposed.
Nisar was of the view that the current ruling lot has completely defaced the truth by their repeated backtracking on issues. He said, “The rulers have now started to focus on their attempts towards passing a controversial legislation
after going back on their earlier statements issued in regard to Nato supply.”
He further said that through the present constitutional amendments, the government is trying to limit the judiciary’s role and to protect its own interests by passing a dual national bill. He said, “The rulers will not be allowed
to use the Parliament for personal gains.”
However, he also said that the government already enjoys two-third majority in the Parliament and he wonder ‘who are they trying to fool?’
