Amir Khan believes he is more proficient than his July 14 opponent Danny Garcia

British-Pakistani fighter Amir Khan believes he is the better fighter than his July 14 opponent Danny Garcia. Moreover, Khan is certain that his opponent, and his camp, knows this reality very well.

“I think they know deep down that I’m the better fighter,” said the former IBF and WBA light welterweight titlist Amir Khan in his recent media interaction.

He added, “I’m more skilful. They can’t beat me any other way other than trying to beat me mentally.”

Khan will take on Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Danny’s WBC light welterweight title and the vacant WBA light welterweight title will be on the line. The winner of the bout will unite both the titles.

“It doesn’t work on me. I think he will try to get under my skin more next week in the build up to the fight at the press conference and weigh-in,” Khan said as a reply to Angel Garcia’s vicious racism and religious attacks.

“They can say what they want, it won’t bother me or break me mentally. His father and him seem to be more bothered about other fights I’ve had than our one,” Khan added.

It should be noted here that Danny Garcia’s trainer and father Angel Garcia has passed unethical comments over Khan. He has been condemned worldwide for his notorious persona, and now it has become worse.

However, Khan is playing wisely this time. He has kept trash-talking to a limit and is focusing more on his training sessions. Khan is nearly at the end of his longest training session, which started in April and will be ending this week.

In addition, Khan is also working with a new strength and training coach Ruben Tomares. Previously, Khan worked under the guidance of Alex Ariza, renowned strength and conditioning coach, but no more. After a bitter dispute, Khan fired Ariza and opted to work with Ruben.
