Iron Maiden commenced working on their new studio album after remaining on the road for a quite some time, in which they performed around 100 shows worldwide while releasing a compilation album, Somewhere Back in Time.
The band managed to release their 15th studio album, The Final Frontier, in August 2010, which garnered critical and commercial success across the globe. It was the band’s greatest commercially successful record in their history, reaching the top spot in 28 countries.
The supporting tour of the record saw the English band perform 98 shows worldwide to an estimated crowd of over two million.
Iron Maiden were ranked 24th in VH1’s ‘100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock’, 4th in MTV’s ‘Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All Time’ and as the 3rd best heavy metal band in VH1’s ‘Classic’s Top 20 Metal Bands’.
The band has influenced many other artists with their impressive and phenomenal studio albums as well as their classy and energetic live performances.
Metallica, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Creed, Trivium, Slipknot, In Flames are the few names who have open heartedly shown their admiration and love for the English band, and have confessed that the band has influenced their music to some extent.
