David Haye: Dereck Chisora fight will not go distance in a million years!
Monday, July 9th, 2012 10:55:42 by Imran Shaukat KhanFormer WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is garnering a lot of media limelight these days and the main reason behind is his upcoming grudge match with former British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora, which will take place on July 14 at the West Ham’s Upton Park in east London.
Haye and Chisora’s fight is one of the most eagerly awaited bouts out there and boxing fans are expecting much from it. However, Haye, who is more commonly known as the Hayemaker, has claimed that the fight will not go the distance at all.
The 31-year-old brash Londoner told the media that he will knockout Chisora on the fight night and he has no doubts about it.
“I think this fight will be one of my most entertaining,” Haye told the Daily Star. “My recent fights haven’t been the most explosive for one reason or another but no doubt about it, this will not go the distance in a million years.
“I will win by a knockout definitely and I’m looking forward to entertaining people. Nine times out of ten my strategies work and I’ve got one for this.
Haye walked away from the sport in October last year after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko but he has insisted he is in the best shape of his life now and people will see it.
“People are going to be quite surprised from the opening bell. They’re going to be pleasantly surprised. If he’s lucky enough to hear the bell for the end of the first round he will realise, ‘I’ve never been hit this hard before’.”
Haye and Chisora literally came down to blows last February in Munich, when they clashed at a post-fight press conference which followed Chisora’s twelve-round unanimous defeat to Vitali Klitschko.
After the brawl Chisora’s WBC withdrew Chisora’s boxing license. He was fined heavily as well. Therefore, this fight has been sectioned by the Luxemburg Board of Boxing Control.
Let’s see if the fight really lives up to the expectations.
