Joachim Persson finds a perfect start at Yonex OCBC US Open Grand Prix Gold 2012

The 13th seeded Joachim showed a tremendous performance in his first match of the tournament and easily overpowered his local opponent in a spectacular fashion.
Joachim played controlled badminton with impressive confidence and proved his worth and outplayed Yau Hwa in straight sets with a comfortable margin on the board.
On the other hand, Yau Hwa failed to failed to live up to expectations of his home crowd as he could not put up strong resistance and lost the battle without taking any game.
The in-form Persson started his run in a relaxed manner which helped his rival to take a small lead in opening rallies.
Nonetheless, the higher ranked Danish shuttler started to pace up rallies and levelled the score by reaching at 8-8. He was in good control and got a strong position by taking a reasonable lead of 11-9 until the one-minute break.
Persson showed his class after the one-minute break when he created trouble for his opponent while keeping the pace of rallies high and secured the first game with a spectacular margin of 21-14.
In the following set, Persson remained consistent in his dominating play on court as he did not let Yau Hwa to match the pace of the game and grabbed a good lead by reaching at 11-6 until the interval.
The Danish hero continued his power play after the break and remained successful in maintain his upper hand over his nervous opponent who failed to respond well.
Persson did not face any trouble in bagging the second game with a smashing margin of 21-12 on the score board.
The in-form Persson advanced into the second round easily by beating his USA opponent in straight games in the opening battle with a one-sided score of 21-14 and 21-12.
