Dereck Chisora insists his fight with David Haye is about pride!

Former British heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora is all set to take on his archrival David Haye on July 14 at the West Ham Upton Park in east London, in a fight which is fuelled by bad blood.

Haye and Chisora literally came down to blows in February in Munich, when they clashed at a post-fight press conference which followed Chisora’s twelve-round unanimous defeat to Vitali Klitschko. Therefore, their fight has created an enormous hype among the people because they know after a long time they will finally see an explosive bout.

However, when Chisora was asked about it, he insisted that his fight with his fellow countryman is all about pride and nothing else.

Chisora said at a pre-match conference call: “This is about pride.”

He continued: “This ain’t about ‘the winner of this can fight the Klitschkos’. Even when David Haye went to fight the Klitschkos, he had nothing. It’s a big fight, everybody’s watching it, it’s going to be explosive, it’s going to be amazing and I’m well prepared for this fight.”

Chisora, also known as Del Boy, has lost three of his last four fights and this is a reason why he will enter the ring as an underdog against Haye. Nevertheless, he has promised his fans that he will put on a great show on the fight night.

He added: “I’m going to give you a great fight, it’s going to be a great fight. I’ll take nothing away from David Haye, he comes in in great shape, he trains hard. Two great athletes in that ring and we’ll see what will happen.”

After remaining involved in several controversial actions, Chisora had his license suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control as a result of which this fight has been sanctioned by the little-known Luxembourg Boxing Federation after Haye agreed to come out of retirement.

Well, all said and done, there is not much time left in the fight now so let’s see if Chisora can really shock the world by shrugging off someone like David Haye.
