Imran regards contempt bill against Holy Quran, Sunnat and Justice
Wednesday, July 11th, 2012 12:13:36 by Fayyaz YaseenIslamabad: (Tuesday, July 10, 2012) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan said here today that the contempt of court bill passed by the National Assembly here on Monday evening, is against the Holy Quran, Sunnat, justice
and the country’s constitution.
Khan, who was addressing a press conference here today, said that though this bill, the present ruling alliance is being given a license to loot.
He said that the government itself is corrupt, and now it wanted to involve the bureaucrats as well.
Imran Khan was of the view that the bill, in its essence, is not only against the constitution but also against the supremacy of law, and judiciary’s independence is being eliminated with it.
Sharing his party’s stance, he also talked about how the PTI is going to react in order to stop this bill from getting approval from the Senate.
Khan said, “The PTI is holding talks to challenge the bill in Supreme Court.”
As the court has summoned the prime minister Ashraf on July 12 on Swiss letter matter, the government is trying its best to get the bill passed from the Senate and get it signed by the president before that.
