Another IT prodigy in Pakistan; World’s Youngest Microsoft Certified Professional

Following on the footsteps of Arfa Karim Randhawa, who became Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) at the age on nine, another eight-year-old Pakistani Shafay Thobani reportedly became world’s youngest Microsoft Certified.
Shafay, who was born on March 13, 2004, grew interested in computers studies since from very early years.
He was appeared in the Prometric test and secured 91 per cent marks, thus making him the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Training Specialist (MCTS) at the age of eight years and 24 days.
According to the reports, he is certified professional in Microsoft Windows 7 Configuration and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2.
It is vital to mention here that before appearing in the exam he remained under training of Microsoft certified trainers for over one year.
Dr Shah Thobani, the father of genius computer expert, while talking to the media said he son had developed interests in computer from very early age.
He noted, “We would get him toys but he would be more attracted to my laptop. Then at the age of four, we gave him an old Acer laptop, a third generation hand-me-down after both me and my younger brother had discarded it”.
Commenting on main areas of interest, Thobani said his son had already completed 65 per cent of Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization.
He said Shafay was born in 2004, the same year Arfa was declared the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional at the age of nine. Arfa was an inspiration for them and he hoped that his son too will be a role model for more children to show their marvelous accomplishments.
Arfa Karim, who left this world at the age of 16, rose to international fame when she became the youngest MCP at the age of nine in 2005. She died in February this year after complications resulting from an epileptic stroke.
Faisal Durrani, the trainer of child, said it was a challenge for him to teach complicated concepts such as Domain Name System (DNS) and Internet Protocol (IP) address to a child as young as Shafay.
