Police has failed to maintain law and order situation in Balochistan: CJ
Thursday, July 12th, 2012 10:58:44 by Fayyaz YaseenQuetta: (Thursday, July 12, 2012) Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, while hearing the law and order situation in Balochistan, said commented that the police has completely failed to maintain the law
and order in the province.
The three member bench, headed by the chief justice and comprising Justice khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Jawwad S Khwaja, heard the case on the petition filed by the Balochistan Bar Association at Quetta Registry.
Giving his remarks during the case proceeding, the CJ said that the police has failed to maintain the law and order in the province and that crime rate was higher in the vicinity where apparently there was police’s control over
the area.
He said that the crime rate was rather lower in the area that is controlled by the Levis.
The CJ shared these remarks after hearing the statement of Mehmoodul Hassan’s wife, who was kidnapped from Dalbadin area. While recording her statement, his wife told the court that the men who abducted her husband from Dalbadin
are roaming free while police is afraid of entering Faisal Town.
On hearing this, the Chief Justice ordered the IG police to find and produce Mehmoodul Hassan by tomorrow.
During the case proceedings, the CJ also reprimanded the DIG Investigation and said that crimes were taking place right under his nose, on which the DIG said that efforts are being made to recover the director of Jamia Salfia.
He said that the police is also taking steps to recover Mukesh Kohli.
The DIG also said that he tries his best to recover the kidnapped persons alive, else he can take other measures to boast his performance.
