David Haye: Beating Chisora won’t add to my legacy!

Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is all set to take on his archrival Dereck Chisora on July 14 at the West Ham Upton Park Stadium in east London, in a fight that is fuelled with bad blood.

Tough this fight has created an enormous hype among the audiences, the 31-year-old brash London, who is commonly known as the Hayemaker, believes a win over Chisora won’t add anything to his legacy.

“Beating Chisora won’t add to my legacy,” he said.

“In 50 years time when people look back at my career they won’t see this fight and think Dereck Chisora was a great fight and look what David did to him.

“Chisora doesn’t have any titles and has been coming off three losses.”

Haye and Chisora not too long ago locked many headlines in the country, when they clashed in February in Munich at a press conference that followed Chisora’s twelve-round unanimous defeat to Vitali Klitschko.

Chisora had his license suspended afterwards but no charges were brought against Haye since he was officially retired from the sport.

While speaking on his inclusion, Haye admitted that his brawl is the main reason why people want to watch this fight.

“It’s a fight for the night, simply because I beat him up at a press conference a few months ago.

“There is no doubt this fight is happening because of the brawl we had in Germany.

“Without that he’d have been another anonymous Klitschko victim. After I knock him out, he’ll go back to being a nobody.

“He’s going to come out looking for a tear up, which is the perfect style for me.”

Well, all said and done, it is a controversial debate whether if a win over Chisora will add to Haye’s legacy or not but the credibility he lost after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Wladimir Klitschko 12 months ago can certainly come back.
