Monday, July 16th, 2012 7:01:32 by Fayyaz YaseenIslamabad: (Monday, July 16, 2012) While appearing before the court as an immunity-granted witness, former Director General (DG) Health Dr Rasheed Juma said that the Ephedrine quota was granted on pressure of Ali Musa Gilani –
son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, and the former health secretary Makhdoom Shahabuddin.
Earlier, Ali Musa Gilani had appeared before the court and submitted his application for protective bail. While his protective bail was approved until July 30, the court had directed him to produce himself before it on July 25.
Talking to the journalists after hearing today, Gilani junior said that he was being put through a media trial. His lawyer also maintained in the court that the real criminal of the case is being made an immunity-granted witness
to the case.
The ephedrine quota case was one of the biggest Gilani family scandal that prevailed in Yousuf Raza Gilani’s regime. While the Gilani family claims to be innocent of the allegations, the sources at Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) said
that they have strong evidences against Ali Musa Gilani and his companions in the crime and soon they will prove their allegations in the court.
