Indo-Pak cricket series to be played in December
Monday, July 16th, 2012 4:55:08 by Faisal FarooqCricketing ties have restored between Pakistan and India after the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) announced that the former will tour the latter to play a series of three one-day internationals (ODIs).
The Indian cricket board, according to the media reports, has showed consent in principle to invite the neighboring country for a bilateral series. It will be the first bilateral series after the 2008 Mumbai carnage.
The reports said that the decision came out after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) put forward three proposals to their Indian counterparts in an effort to restore the bilateral relationships between the two arch-rival nations.
PCB Chairman while speaking to the media in Lahore said that the two countries were making efforts to normalize the bilateral relations. The situation has been improved much better than before, he added.
He noted, “It seems the bilateral series will surely be held later this year. The decision is great and we welcome it. It seems that millions of cricket fans have their wishes fulfilled”.
Earlier, Chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf proposed that either India could tour Pakistan or hold a bilateral series in a neutral venue. He also proposed that Pakistan could host the tournament in India.
It is vital to mention here that the foreign secretaries of the two countries decided to promote the sporting relationships in the recent meeting held in India. The joint-statement issued by them reads, “The Foreign Secretaries also emphasized the need to promote media and sports contacts”.
Moreover, the PCB chairman also held several meetings with his Indian counterpart during the last several months in this regard.
It is vital to mention here that the Indian board has also invited Pakistan’s national T20 champion Sialkot Stallions to participate in the Qualifying Tournament of Champions League Twenty20 to be held in South Africa later this year.
President Asif Ali Zardari had requested India Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to restore the sports ties between the duo states.
Pakistan lastly played a bilateral series with India in 2007 while India featured in the Asia Cup held across the border in 2008.

This is good news. However, we must move cautiously and shun emotional outbursts to broadcast that India has done a great favour. Bangladesh tour episode should not be lost sight of.Stable nations take matters in slow stride and react more realistically to such events which first appear to be do or die but somehow fizzle out later.
India must have promised a tour in return of this; but we all know thats never going to happen. India and its promises. Phuff!
Good News. Go Pak Go. Go for a 3 nil 😛
why PCB why? Stupid decision. Ind owe us a tour, if they don’t want to come to pak then we can have tour in UAE why Pak team going to India?
