David Haye to Manuel Charr: If you beat Vitali Klitschko, then it’s me and you!
Tuesday, July 17th, 2012 3:21:48 by Imran Shaukat KhanFormer WBA heavyweight champion, David Haye, knocked out Dereck Chisora in the fifth round last Saturday in front of a crowd of over 32,000 people and he wants to challenge for the WBC heavyweight title, which is currently held by Vitali Klitschko.
Vitali and Charr will lock horns on September 8 at the Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow, Central Federal District and Haye sights are set on a showdown clash with the winner of the bout.
After defeating Chisora, a confident Haye was sharing his thoughts with the media at the post-fight press conference, where Charr was also present. The unbeaten German interrupted Haye and threw down a challenge.
Charr stated: “I promise you I will destroy Vitali Klitschko in September and we can make the contest for you and for me.
“I know I will beat him. I have the power, I have the vision and then after I defeat him, I hope we can fight.”
Haye immediately accepted Charr’s offer for a potential fight but on the same note he insisted that he would love to set up a clash with Vitali, if he emerges as a winner on the fight night.
Haye said: “If you beat Vitali, then it’s me and you. Good luck. I will be ready because this win has shown just how good I am.
“If Vitali Klitschko beats Manuel, I’d love to challenge him for his title. If not, it isn’t meant to be.”
Well, all said and done, Haye had an offer to fight Vitali but he turned it down and went for a grudge match with Chisora, probably for more money. Therefore, Vitali doesn’t want to fight him now since he is planning to join politics in October.
Haye knows the fact but this time he is not much worried.
He said: “What will be will be. If this was my last performance, I can say I went out with a bang and a great performance.”
