Football tournaments in full bloom during summer

Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) are organizing a floodlit tournament during Ramazan and according to one of their officials, the major reason behind this is to promote the image of the beautiful game in the sprawling metropolis.
“Football is my love and we’re launching this event involving leading Karachi teams. This is our first step towards promoting and developing football in the metropolis,” he added.
Meanwhile, in the spiritual capital of Punjab, the Model Town Football Academy has been busy in showing off their futsal fiesta.
“The MTFA Kick-off Futsal Tournament 2012 is in full swing at Model Town Football Ground, which began on July 12 and will run till July 18. Over 2250 students have registered so far, and they range from ages 3 ½ to 18.”
“The Summer Camp’s kids is also participating in this tournament in full strength. Today, there will three matches between Quetta Vs Faislabad, Peshawar Vs Islamabad, Lahore Vs Karachi in Group C2 While all final matches will be held the next day and Grand
prize distribution ceremony on Thursday at 5:30pm at Model Town Football Club Ground.”
“The mission of MTFA is to provide the youth of Pakistan with an opportunity to associate as sports fraternity and generally to advance, develop their football talents, polish skills and knowledge through training use of professional instructors clinic,
club competitions and organising tournaments competing with other existing youth sports organizations,” said MTFA President Mian Ali Rizwan.
