Hussain has been found non-cooperating before the bench despite the court orders.
Headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court heard the case. Other judges in the bench included Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain.
In 2010, the court had taken a suo moto notice on the Huj corruption case.
In today’s hearing, once again, Hussain Asghar, who was appointed as head of the FIA team probing the scam and who was later on appointed as IGP GB, failed to produce himself before the court.
Expressing his disappointment, the chief justice directed the Attorney General to issue a suspension notification if Asghar failed to appear in the court by tomorrow.
Moreover, the CJ also inquired as to why Asghar had not been already suspended and summoned the attorney general.
