Frank Warren and Adam Booth share thoughts on David Haye and Dereck Chisora fight!

Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye floored his fellow countryman Dereck Chisora in the fifth round in front of a crowd of over 32,000 people at the West Ham Upton Park Stadium in east London.

Haye and Chisora locked headlines in the country, when they literally came down to blows in February in Munich at a press conference which followed Chisora’s twelve round unanimous defeat to Vitali Klitschko.

This was the main reason why their grudge match was one of the most eagerly awaited out there and both boxers did their best to oblige. In the end the pair showed hugged and showed much respect for each other.

Like many others, Frank Warren and Adam Booth are also very delighted with the success of the evening since they believe everyone went perfectly on the fight night.

“It was a great show, a great fight,” Chisora’s manager Warren beamed when speaking to BoxingScene.com. “One of the best heavyweight fights I’ve seen for a long time. David Haye deserved it – he fought very well. Dereck showed his heart and his chin. I always said from the beginning, the way to settle this was in the ring, and they did, and that they’d make friends afterwards, and they did. You couldn’t have got better than this. At the end of the fight they showed tremendous respect for each other.”

In the meantime, Haye’s manager Adam Booth also shared his thoughts. Booth insisted that Haye had a burning desire to win after he lost to Wladimir Klitschko last year and he has proved himself once again by becoming the first man ever to knockout Chisora in the ring.

Booth remarked, “We knew Dereck had heart, and we knew he was going to put pressure on to try and test David’s heart. That fact is, I’ve always known David has plenty of heart. The problem for Dereck was that, after last year, David had a really burning desire to show people what he had.”
