Man dies after forty hour Diablo III session

An 18 year old died in Taiwan last weekend after playing Diablo III at an Internet cafe for forty straight hours.
The boy, named Chuang, last Friday booked a private room on site to play the leading online role-playing title developed by Blizzard for subsequent days.
After two days of play without eating, one of the employees of the café came to the room where the youngster was unconscious.
Chuang got up on his feet, but ended up fainting shortly after awakening and was taken to hospital where he died.
After hearing the news, Blizzard has issued a statement claiming that they are saddened by the news and give their condolences to the families and friends of the deceased:
“We are saddened by the news. Our condolences to the families and friends. We do not want to comment further without knowing the circumstances that surrounded the event.”
