Max Abreu and Tiffany Oliver dominate swimming events – USA Swimming Sectionals

Max Abreu and Tiffany Oliver occupied gold medals of Men’s 200m butterfly and Women’s 100m freestyle respectively at the 2012 USA Swimming Sectionals in Fort Lauderdale.

With his fantastic pace, Abreu remained in a lead of half body length over his closest challenger as he tapped the wall with a fantastic timing of 2 minutes and 04.36 seconds for gold medal.

His gold winning effort remained 0.70 seconds slower from his following swimmer, Scott Fortier of Area Tallahassee, who occupied silver medal of the discipline by posting an effort of 2 minutes and 05.06 seconds.

The second position of the discipline was secured by Youse Alaskari of Davie Nadadores, who suffered a deficit of 1.22 seconds from his foregoing finisher and posted a time of 2 minutes and 06.28 seconds.

The bronze medallist was chased by Jake K Hassel of Seacoast-NE, who stayed almost one body length apart and finished fourth in the discipline by posting a time of 2 minutes and 07.15 seconds.

Following that, the spectators witness mind-blowing performances of Oliver in the Women’s 100m discipline. Oliver remained in a lead of half body length her over subsequent swimmer and tapped the wall with the timing of 57.05 seconds for gold medal.

Her title-claiming effort remained 0.50 seconds faster from Bruens, who secured second position of the discipline by producing a time of 57.55 seconds.

The silver medallist was chased by Lauren Driscoll of Swim Ft Lauderdale, who stayed 0.35 seconds behind and occupied bronze medal of the discipline by posting a time of 57.90 seconds.

Fourth position of the discipline was obtained by Alex J Merritt of Area Tallahassee, who remained 0.53 seconds apart and tapped the wall with the timing of 58.43 seconds.

Similarly, Merritt was trailed by her team-member, Delaney Barnard, who stayed just 0.30 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and settled on the finishing wall as fifth finest swimmer by clocking a time of 58.73 seconds.

Furthermore, the winners received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize distribution ceremony of the championship.
