Jackie Rudolph and Haley Durmer conquer swimming titles – USA Swimming Sectionals

Jackie Rudolph and Haley Durmer conquered gold medals of the 400m freestyle and 400m Individual Medley (IM) respectively at the 2012 USA Swimming Sectionals.

Rudolph experienced strong resistance from her strongest challenger throughout the discipline but with her epic pace, she managed to outperform her over the finishing wall for first position by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 20.64 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Kylie Stewart, who stayed 0.02 seconds away from her and settled on the wall as second position holder by posting a time of 4 minutes and 20.66 seconds.

The second position holder was traced by Bryn Handley, who stayed almost six seconds behind and made her way to the finishing blockade as third position holder by posting an effort of 4 minutes and 26.42 seconds.

Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Kathleen Cook, who stayed 0.37 seconds apart and occupied fourth position of the discipline by posting a time of 4 minutes and 26.79 seconds.

Following that, the audience witnessed gruelling efforts of Durmer in the 400m IM. The 17-year-old Durmer demonstrated her stupendous efforts in the distant IM event and made her way to the finishing wall for the crown.

Durmer stayed in a lead of half body length over her following swimmer and touched the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 58.94 seconds.

Her gold winning effort remained 0.48 seconds ahead of Keenan Lineback, who proved her eligibility for silver medal of the discipline by clocking an effort of 4 minutes and 59.42 seconds.

Lineback was chased by Ellie Grimes, who stayed almost four seconds apart and secured bronze medal of the event by producing a time of 5 minutes and 03.87 seconds.

Fourth spot of the event was obtained by Micah Bohon, who remained two body lengths apart and settled on the wall by posting a time of 5 minutes and 05.66 seconds.

Furthermore, the championship came to an end after the completion of all listed events in Men and Women’s corner.
