Dialogue only solution to restore peace in region; says Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf
Thursday, July 19th, 2012 3:38:38 by Faisal FarooqPrime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday said that the long term peace in Afghanistan was only possible through an intra-Afghan political, adding all stakeholders will have to work together to make the region peaceful.
PM Ashraf, who is on his first visit to Afghanistan, said this while talking to opposition leaders. Before holding meetings with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and British Prime Minister David Cameron, the Pakistani premier held discussions with leading opposition of Afghanistan National Front (ANF).
Ustad Mohammad Mohaqiq, Ahmad Zia Masood and Faizullah Zaki were among the most prominent leaders of the ANF.
The prime minister observed, “Pakistan attaches great importance to its friendly relations with all Afghan ethnic groups and leaders. He said Pakistan would like these strong bonds to further strengthen”.
He said that Pakistan wants to work closely with Tajik, Hazara and Uzbek leaders to strengthen their ties with these communities for bringing stability in the region.
Confessing the role of ANF in Afghanistan and its efforts for long term stability and progress of their country, he asked them to continue their support to make the region peaceful.
Earlier, the prime minister said his first visit to Kabul will help in strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He noted, “The agenda of his visit to Afghanistan is focused on bilateral ties, political stability in Afghanistan and efforts to counter terrorism in Pakistan and Afghanistan”.
Replying to a query about trilateral summit, the premier said he would discuss host of issues with British Prime Minister David Cameron. Terming the visit very crucial in the present circumstances, PM Ashraf hoped for positive consequences.
“Pakistan as a front line state had rendered enormous sacrifices to ensure peace in the region and it is not only fighting its own war but also contributing for the sake of global peace”, he added.
The Pakistani prime minister was of the opinion that the forbearance and persistence of the people was exemplary, adding that the international community must acknowledge the sacrifices Pakistan rendered in the war on terror.

Cameron and Karzai should have a fruitful discussion with him on how to make quick money through RPPs. The guy is an expert on that. Other than that I don’t think there is anything Mr. PM has knowledge to talk about.
I don’t think he is capable enough to handle Karzai who always speak his master voice and has insularity towards Pakistan.
Raja Rental & Karzai both have no respect in their own nation. What will be the out come of the meeting?
