Remove the metal shields on the motherboard and the docking connector by removing the screws. Remember the position of the screws as they are of different lengths and need to go back in their appropriate places. Also the screws may have different locations on different iPhone handsets.
Then comes the turn of the rear camera. In order to remove the camera, detach it from the board. Also disconnect the board from the rest of the phone by pulling out all the cables from the top and side.
The docking connector cable is attached delicately on the motherboard and needs to be removed very gently. Pry loose the cable from the metal sheet underneath with a sharp-edge tool and then disconnect it from the board.
To remove the motherboard, first remove the hidden screw under the white sticker, right next to the battery pull tab. Remove the screw beneath the docking connector cable near the bottom and metal standoff from the top near the headphone jack.
Now remove the motherboard lifting it up gently followed by the speaker enclosure and vibration motor. The vibration motor, as mentioned before, has different locations in different iPhone handsets depending on the model and carrier.
