Friday, July 20th, 2012 2:47:33 by Shahrukh SohailAIFF Technical Director Rob Baan has urged the nation’s coaches and instructors to find the best players in the country, so that their talent can be honed and put to good use.
As India continues its journey to become one of the top Asian countries in the beautiful game, most the pressure to perform is on Netherlands’ Rob Baan.
The Dutchman has been tasked with improving football in the country and has now advised his fellow coaches to scout the best talent available to them.
“All of you need to make me a promise. Promise me, all of you will come back to me within a month with a kid who you believe has the potential to play for India in the future. You are my scouts. By now, you ought to know as to what kind of player I am looking
for. Can You Promise me?”
“You can even give me more than one boy. We will have a trial for the kid and if we find him good enough, we will enroll him,” he informed,” he said.
While things are on the rise for India, they still have a long way to go before they can call themselves as true footballing nation.
