Ramzan starts in Saudi Arabia

Muslims in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia would begin fasting today (Friday), as moon was sighted there on Thursday evening. However, the Muslim community in UK and USA is divided. Some people would start fasting from Friday while
others would have first fast from Saturday.

Whereas, Pakistan Markazi Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Munibur Rehman said that the meeting for sighting the crescent of Ramazan would be held on Friday (today). The meeting would be held in Karachi after Asr prayers, he added.

Meanwhile the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has also formed a committee of religious scholars to mull over the starting of the holy month on the same date with rest of the country.Some refugees in Haripur, Peshawar, Bara, and Khyber Agency announced
to start fasting from Friday.

Whereas, the meeting of Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) would be held in the building of Ministry of Religious Affairs near General Post Office (GPO). Other zonal committees would also meet at various places of the country
