A delegation of scientists from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH), a subsidiary
of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Ministry of Science & Technology. The 15-member Chinese delegation of scientists headed by CAS President Dr. Chunli Bai, arrived Pakistan
on the invitation of Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) for participating in a one-day Bi-nationalConference.
PSF Member Science Dr. Khalil Ibupoto and PMNH Director General Dr. Syed Azhar Hasan along with directors of the Museum received the delegation.
The PMNH DG through a multi-media presentation briefed the guests about mandate, functions, research and educational activities and
achievements of the Museum, says a handout issued here on Friday. Later, the delegation visited different display galleries. The Chinese scientistsappreciated the efforts
of PMNH scientists for such a huge collection of natural history specimens and their documentation and display for researchand educational purposes.
The Chinese and PMNH scientists also discussed the future cooperation between PMNH and Chinese similar institutions. The PMNH and BeijingMuseum of Natural History (BMNH) also have signed a Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the areas of natural history.
The MoU was signed in Beijing during PMNH Director General Dr. Syed Azhar Hasan and Senior Operational Manager Muhammad Akhtar Javed during their visit to Beijing Museum of Natural History.
These officers visited BMNH for a week under Pakistan-China 17th Science & Technology Protocol to find out the areas of cooperation between the two Museums.
