Zardari directs chief ministers to control prices during Ramadan
Saturday, July 21st, 2012 10:36:41 by Fayyaz YaseenIslamabad: (Saturday, July 21, 2012) President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari has directed the respective chief ministers of all four provinces including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir to effectively control prices of all the
essential items during the holy month of Ramadan to facilitate the people.
The President sent these directives to the respective provinces through letters addressing to the chief ministers.
While stressing the need for facilitating the poor, particularly those of economically marginalized and vulnerable, he instructed, “Prices of any commodity must not be allowed to be raised in the holy month.”
Directing the authorities both in urban and rural areas, the President asked the authorities to strictly monitor the prices of essential goods.
